Good Afternoon! February 25, 2018

Good Afternoon!

This week we had the Baptism for Quenilyn! It went super good and her friends that are our investigators went also! Julie Angel gave a talk about Faith and Repentance and it was so good! And then Mart gave a talk about baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end! So it was a success!
This week started good with a Zone Activity at the Beach! We had a testimony meeting and were able to play games! We've been reteaching Julie Angel and her testimony is so strong. Her talk was so good at the baptism and shes a good friend. We continuted to teach Cary and prepare her for her baptism. We were scared she wouldnt be able to make it to church this week because her grandma who always goes with her to church is in the hospital. But we shared to her about faith and how she needs to trust in God and go to church. Her and her sister walked all the way to church. The church is in the next town over but they still went! So it was awesome. Her Dad is having problems with the Word of Wisdom so were trying to help him with all we can. We werent able to get another lesson with Steven this week. So that was super sad. But maybe this next week we will get a hold of him. Not much else is coming to my head about anything that happened this week. SO see ya guys next week!

Faith is what it takes! February 18,2018

Hey everyone! Hope you guys are doing good and chasing your dreams. This week really testified to me that its about Faith! In Liozon I have been putting my Faith In Jesus Christ to Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts! I have seen so many blessings that have come because i have put my Faith in Him. One of them being Chaddy receiving the Aaronic Preisthood and now him exercising his faith to pass the sacrament worthily as a new Deacon. I have seen the Lord pour out his spirit upon that boy to repent and to be baptized into the True Church! It truly makes me happy!

Or whether it being the Lord blessing us with a desire to teach and find the souls who are looking for the gospel. On Tuesday we decided that we needed to go back to Brother Albert a new investigator we had found last week. We go to his house and it just looks like no one is there. We yelled Tao po(people here) and thats when we first met Steven. Brother Alberts son. Well it turned out that Albert was working but, we decided not to give up and talk to his son. Turns out his son is 19 also! So we all got along super quick. Well we ended up talking and then  We ended up teaching him about how the gospel can make us happy and that Heavenly Father loves him and wants his family to be happy.  We taught him how to pray and that he needed to ask God if our message is true. Super short but powerful 1st lesson. So we asked him when we could come back. He said Friday we could. To our suprisment it actually worked out on Friday! He took us in and told us he had done what we said to pray! He said he feels like he has an answer that he said his family was getting along better. We were super happy that he prayed and felt like God was helping his family! He saw the blessings straight away. We then went on to share the restoration. It was such a powerful lesson and we felt the spirit guiding us what to say and how to adjust it for Steven especially. At the end of the lesson as i finished teaching about how the spirit will teach us through feelings and our thoughts, Elder Aquino committed him to pray about Joseph Smith and if this church could really be true. We were then both prompted to invite him to be baptized if he comes to know of the truth! And he accepted! So were so excited to see how he progresses in the  church! He just recently got a job where he has to work on Sunday. So we will try to help him with his first concern. But what a blessing! We were punted but it turned into us meeting Steven! The Lord blesses his missionaries!

I saw the hand of the Lord also in this week with the progression of Cary in the gospel also. She is 10 years old and wants to learn! Her dad was baptized in 2016. But she was never baptized when her Dad was. So she is an investigator. I gave her a Book of Mormon Stories book this week so she would be able to understand better what she is reading in the Book of Mormon because it has pictures and stuff and its great for kids! So her and her sister and her Grandma have been reading it together. She just went to church for the 3rd time now. But we still want her Dad  to be a part of her conversion. He hasn't really opened up to us because he hasn't been going to church recently. But were  trying to help her Dad become active again. God will bless them as Cary prepares for her Baptism! I know it. We were also able to pick up a new investigator where they live. Cary's cousin. So its super FUN!

I know the Lord will bless me if I use my God given agency to bless the lives of others. I love the scripture President Lacanienta shared with us at our Mission President Interviews this week
26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.
I love how it says God will let us act  for ourselves and  not to be acted upon. All of us have the power to CHOSE THE RIGHT for ourselves. And I know the right is me helping these people in the Philippines come unto Christ. Im greatful for the blessings of this and I hope you guys feel them too.

This Saturday will be the baptism of Quinilyn Mendoza. She is always so excited to share the gospel with her family/cousins. Shes always inviting her cousins to come to church and listen to the Elders. This week her and Julie Angel took 2 more of their cousins to church! So its so awesome. And  last night we were able to teach the ones that went to church. So were super excited. Her interview should be this week and were thinking its going to be okay with her parents for her to get baptized. We were able to talk to her Dad who only comes home on weekends because of his work yesterday.  So pray!

It was an awesome week and full of Work work work. Fun fun fun. Have an awesome week! Love Elder Breinholt

Happy Valentines Day! February 11, 2018

Back to the Normal now. We started this week off with a solid Pday. We were able to withdraw money again so I've been loving life with lots of money again :) We had an awesome district meeting. We had 2 new arrivals. A new sister and then my comp. So its been good! Also I did a  baptismal interview in the Sisters area! So the baptism is going to happen on Saturday! So its going to be so awesome! Their investigator has such a strong testimony. She actually had a dream and she was told the book of mormon was true and to not worry about comparing it to the bible because it was true! So how cool is that! So were looking to work hard as a District and have some more baptisms this transfer!
We were able to work with Mart this week. He's a returned missionary from Utah. It is always so fun working with him. We always run into his cousins and family and stuff its super funny. But we were able to talk to alot of people this week. We ended up with 8 new investigators this week. And we were able to set a baptismal date for Quinilyn for Feb 24. We did that because Cary's baptism was supposed to be on that day. SO we were just going to do both of them together but Cary didn't go to church this sunday so we have to move her to next month :( dang. were so sad! I guess her stomach was hurting. So ughh. its such a bummer. But i know she will eventually get baptized! So yeah we finished the lessons with Quinilyn and now she needs an interview and now we retaught Julie Angel. So its good stuff. SO were loving life. I wish you guys could be out here with me serving! its so fun! But yeah thats about it! Love you guys! have an awesome week! Happy Valentines DAyyyy!

Transfer Week!!! February 4, 2018

Well Transfer News came this week and Elder Jones was transferred! Im going to miss that Stud! My new companion is from the Philippines. His name is Elder Aquino. Hes good at understanding English. He just cant speak it. So i will try and help him improve his English and in return he will help me improve my Tagalog!

Some changes also came along with this transfer. The branch here in Liozon will only have 2 missionaries. So we now have to cover the whole branch. Before it was 4, but now just 2. So we have been able to take over one of their investigators preparing for baptism. Shes 9 years old. Her grandma is super active. We were also able to teach alot of the other grandkids that she has. They were a ton at church yesterday and they were a little loud during sacrament. But its all good. They will learn haha.

So yeah we will just keep the area going and the investigators we have going. Not much really to tell you guys about this week. But here are some pictures!

Pics of the Week!!!

Safety houses from storms that were never finished, so Elder Jones and I made them climbing obstacles

As a district we were able to have 6 baptisms this transfer, have an average of 20 people with baptismal dates, average of 8 people at sacrament and we found over 100 new investigators! We also taught 251 lessons this transfer as a district! Preaching repentance baby! wowooo!

The family i talked about last week went to church this week!!! so awesome!!

Digging the hole for a bathroom:)

10 commandments in front of a catholic church!

January 29, 2018 Elder Breinholt weekly!

This week started off awesome with a hike with some Returned Missionaries and us Elders. We hiked up a mountain that was supposed to have saftey houses from storms, but they didnt finish them. So Elder Jones and I made them climbing obsticales.
It was a super fun hike and we ate some fast food after at Mang Inasal. A super good fast food restaurant here in the Philippines. So our week started out awesome with that!

This week was our last district meeting of this transfer. It was super fun to work with these elders and sisters. Our testimonies about missionary work have grown a lot. This week is transfer week. So there might be some changes to our district. So that would be sad. But we will see! But as a district we were able to have 6 baptisms this transfer, have an average of 20 people with baptismal dates, average of 8 people at sacrament and we found over 100 new investigators! We also taught 251 lessons this transfer as a district! Preaching repentance baby! wowooo!
This week we took an opportunity to serve our investigators in a new way. So these couple families have been avoiding us to be straight up with it. So we have been doing anything we can to get their attention basically. We have been trying to do anything just to help them. So this week we offered our help to them by helping them build their new bathroom. They thought it was a joke until we actually showed up. When we showed up they were mocking us thinking that we just wanted snacks from them because we were going to help. Oh.. you guys just want us to go to church.. blah blah. haha. But we kinda just ignored them and insisted our help. So we started helping by digging a hole, after about an hour of just working our butts off we got it 6 feet deep! As we were digging, we were able  to talk to them about how all we want to do is help and were not just here to change their religion. Were here to help them. So they were grateful we helped and their bathroom should be finished in no time. We even went back the next day to help more! But it was a tender mercy that we were once able to bare our testimonies about missionary work to them again! So awesome stuff. I think they will open up to us and let us teach again! I felt like i was in Fiji again building bathrooms again mom!

Later that day something i do remember that was super funny.. We were doing some contacting and  finding and we ran into a lady who thought we drank chlorine for the sacrament. She said she remembered going to church when she was in highschool and thats what she remembered. So it was a tender mercy that we were able to fix her wrong interpretation. We then moved on to us bearing our testimonies and inviting her to listen more of the message. Shes super cool tho! Shes just busy with her job she was saying. soo lame excuseee. we'll give her another push this week to listen more tho. But funny huh! Chlorine!

This week we were able to  focus more on our recent converts and some less actives. I feel so blessed this week that i was able to share my testimony with so many people. One including the Amagna Family that Elder Jones and I found a couple weeks ago. They are actually Investigators. We came back to their house alot of times and no one was there. But yesterday Tatay and his daughter were there. But we just kept talking to Tatay and we told him we were not here to change his religion but to share what God has given us. We shared the unique message of the restoration and he was so interested. So we told him to pray about Joseph Smith!. But Elder Jones and I both felt as we were being helped to be able to deliver the message. I know that we were helped by the Spirit! It was so awesome! I cant wait to see what happens with it! I know the Lord is preparing them!

So those were some of the highlights of my awesome week! Love
