The rain went away! then it came back...6-24-2018

Hey Family and Friends!

Well the rain stopped this week and it was super hot again! But the rain has now picked up again! That didn't last too long hah.

As for the work, it was a tougher week this week to be honest! We had to drop this investigator this week.. he always said even if we come to his house every day he is okay with it.. but when it comes around for church.. he says he cant go.. so we honestly just were so frustrated. so we told him we cant visit him so much..

But we have some other progression! Brother Noel is doing awesome! He is the asawa(husband) of Sister Julie. The mom that got baptized last week. We taught him about the Book of Mormon last night.. and he wants to get baptized.. we are just having a hard time getting the lessons in. because he is always at work. but we are going to try and have the missionaries visit them at their work and read the Book of Mormon with him! Yesterday was his 3rd time at church! But he always asks and brings up the crazy things.. Who did Moses give the 10 commandments to after he came down from Mt Sinai? Why is the Relief Society president wearing a mini skirt? Also Julies dad wasnt helping he was asking us where the gold plates are now.. and where the artifacts of the book of mormon are. SO that wasnt helping either.. but it made for an awesome lesson haha! Its so fun being around them. We love teaching them.

We have been on the look out for some new people to teach and the Lord is blessing us with it! We've been working hard and I know the Lord is helping us!

Yesterday at church was also cool because we got to see our investigator Jeron at church! He lives in the sisters area now but Elder Rigby and I were the first to teach him. He is so cool and he really enjoyed at church yesterday! He had full fellowship also! It made for an awesome time at church!

But yeah that's pretty much all i can think about right now! Love you guys! The Church of Jesus Christ is true! I'm grateful to be a part of the work! Love you guys!

Diwa Family Baptism and Happy Fathers Day! 6-17-2018

The rain keeps on coming! It'll stop occasionally for maybe an hour or less, then it will pick back up again! Its been going on for weeks now! Pretty sure its Typhoons!

Yesterday when we were visiting the Diwa Family there was an earthquake! I was just siting in my chair and then i started to shake! I didnt last very long. Maybe 5 seconds. It apparently started in the ocean right outside our mission! Freakkyyy. We are all safe! (Dont worry mom) :)

As for that. This week was one i will never be able to forget! It started with a visit from Elder Uceda of the 70. Hes from Peru! Totally just reminded me of Max! Max have you ever met him? I shook hands with him..so if you did too..we technically shook hands too :p haha! it was cool because we got to meet up as an entire mission! His wife spoke to us with a translator because i guess she doesn't speak english! Shes spanish! There are some words i understood from his wife tho! Because a long time ago the Philippines was under Spanish control. So they have some spanish words! Then Elder Uceda talked to us! It was good and we learned a lot that day! That was an awesome day too because i got to see Elder Kammerman again! One of my MTC companions who i haven't see forever! It was great to catch up with him and other missionaries!

So our plan was to do the baptism on Saturday but on Wednesday we took a visit with the Diwa Family! Julie wasnt there but her husband was. So we were talking and taught him. And after we taught him.. he told us he wanted to see if we could change the baptism for tomorrow so he could see it. Because he was going to return to work on Saturday. So we said. Sure! Why not! We had to call everyone in the branch after that and get everything okay for the baptism! When we were calling around it turned out that there were no baptismal clothes at our church and the church is getting repainted so it is super dirty! So we did our routine on Thursday morning and then headed to the church! When we got there.. there were no members there to help. So my companion and I got everything cleaned up and then started filling up the font. We cleaned it up a little but and the started filling up the water..it was pouring out yellow water.. we were freaking out..because at this point it was 3! and the baptism is starting at 4! Well we decided to drain the water... no big deal.. but it didnt drain! the water drainages were full of water from the rain! With buckets we had to take the dirty water out of the font.. at this point there was other people there to help.we dumped all that water down the toilet..at this point everyone is here and watching us do this.. ahh it was super lame and i got so tired. And dont you guys forget about the baptism clothes. right. there is none? well we called around the other branches and Elder Yingling came to the rescue! He said he would check to see if they had suits. Well their church was flooded! They somehow got the suits tho and came to our church just in time the water was filling up! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh hahaha.. lets just say there was so many trials leading up to the baptism! But...

The Baptism turned out awesome! Julies dad baptized the 3 of them and Noel was there to witness. There was such a strong spirit after they were baptized. The sister missionaries sang the Peace in Christ and really really brought more of the spirit to the room. At this point you feel like you have a rock in your chest! And when they were done thats when they bore their testimonies! It truly is an awesome feeling to hear your converts testimonies and how they were converted! It was so awesome! It made me forget about anything before the baptism started. Sister Julie also cooked food for everyone and we all ate after! So it was super awesome!

On Sunday it was good too! They got confirmed and Noel went too! So he only needs 2 more churches and the family can be completed! Elder Yinglings branch went to church with us too! So it was super awesome! Elder Yingling and I got to go to church again together! And he was with all of his investigators. So i got to meet them too!

This work is awesome and I'm glad to be apart of it! These people are helping me more than I am helping them really!

Shoutout to my awesome Dad! Happy Fathers Day! I love you tons! I don't know how i got so lucky with the parents I have! Love you guys so much! Have an awesome rest of the day and week!

Lubao for another Transfer! With a twist! June 10, 2018

Hey Good Morning!

So Transfer News came this week. My companion and I didn't get transfered. But the twist is Sister Missionaries got added to the Branch! That also means we had to give some of our investigators to them. Which Elder Rigby and I were super bummed about. We loved going to the Sabado Family but we have trust in the sisters! There's also some others we had to give to them. So yeah we had to split the area with them. But it'll be good! We've already seen miracles! We didn't get anyone to go to church actually from their area last transfer. Which i feel bad about don't get me wrong. But this last Sunday they had Mauro Sabado go to church. One of the brothers in a family of 9, The Sabado Family! So the Miracles have already begun. Everyone also loves the sisters. So they are going to kill it!

As for Elder Rigby and I, We spent time this week helping out the sisters know who all the people we were visiting with. We basically took them on a tour of the area! The Branch President also came with us and helped out! So now, they know the area and all of the people we were teaching! So success.

As for us we are finishing the Diwa Families lessons and getting them ready for their baptism this Saturday! They are super excited and ready! We taught them about Missionary work this last week and guess what happened! They did Missionary work right away! They brought their Aunt with them to church! Sister Julies older sister. Turns out she was visiting town this week and shes not a member. So they invited her to come to church and she came! Their faith is so real! I love them so much! Im super excited for Saturday! Julie's dad is going to be able to be absent from his work so he can attend and he wants to be the baptizer! So we cant wait! Everything is going super smooth.

Also its that time of the year again! Tag-ulan (Rainy season) Elder Rigby and I finally had to go looking for Umbrellas to buy! Its been raining every day! But that hasnt stopped us from working hard and visiting our investigators! I love this work and I hope to make my Heavenly Father proud out here in the Philippines.

Another Statistic that came out that i forgot to mention last week! is that the Philippines, not grouped with any other countries is ranked #2 in baptisms per missionary in the world behind Africa. So what a more wonderful time for me to be a part of this marvelous work and be doing it in the Philippines.

Our investigator Rico who we've been teaching for a while now got the courage to talk to his wife about the church. Because it always seems to happen while we teach him his wife is at work. And when we did talk to her she didn't want anything to do with us and she actually got mad at us. She doesn't like that he reads the Book of Mormon. But anyways. He asked her if they could go to church this Sunday! And she said no. But we find that a miracle that before even Rico wasn't to ecstatic about going to church but now he has a desire to go to church! So thats what the Spirit does to people! It changes their hearts!

So yeah thats basically a summary of our week here in Lubao! Hope you guys are having a good week! And for the fam.. Have a good time in Mexico! Make sure to send me lots of pics! Have a blast! Love you guys!

Transfer Week In Lubao! June 3, 2018

This week we had to say Bye to Pauline! Shes headed off to go back and live with her Grandpa and study in Pangasinan. Its a different province. But she has cousins shes going to be able to go to church with. ðŸ‘‹ Shes been texting her aunt tho saying she wants to come back tho haha. Shes funny. It was sad to say bye to her. But guess that's just how it is. Were going to miss her tho!
Heres some last pics we took with them!

The Diwa Family passed their Baptismal Interview! They were so nervous for their interview it was cute. They did a great job tho! Weve been teaching them now stuff like.. about callings.. preisthood offices, young womens..stuff like that. They love it. Julie said she would accept a calling! So thats awesome. Yesterday at church Elder Rigby and I were waiting for Julie to go give her testimony haha.. she didn't tho. maybe next fast and Sunday meeting she will!

Pic with our BML. He is an RM from the Cebu Philippines Mission. And Julie. And then some kid i dont know.

But yeah,
The Philippines Missions have been collecting stats recently. And for every 2 investigators that go to sacrament, one gets baptized in the Olongapo Mission(my mission) 2:1. Thats the highest in all of the Philippines Missions! So this week we worked really hard with our other investigators. Commiting them and visiting them 3 times this week to go to church. But no one else new came. ughh. haha. I think we need to involve the members more. But ugh like.. we worked hard to visit others but none of them went to church xD. But thats their agency. Thats something I've really been learning about on my mission. You cant control others agency. That's what Satan wants to do. Thats not Jesus Christ's and Heavenly Father's plan. Its just hard not to see them commit to the blessings ecspeically when you are a missionary!..you want to see them baptized or reactivate when you visit them.. and it hurts not to see them commit to the blessings.

But for another cool announcement. Every apartment in the mission is getting washing machines! So now we wont have to wash by hand! yay relief!

Also just saw one of my old investigators in my second area got baptized! So thats super awesome to see! And more investigators i taught in my last area are getting ready for their baptism! The Lord truly stretches his hand out to us. We just have to come unto Him. Such an awesome feeling to be in this work and help build the kingdom of God. I hope everyone can have this feeling. It truly is awesome. The Church is True! Have an awesome week! Love you guys

Week 73, May 27, 2018

This week was especially special because it was the baptism of Pauline! Yay! Go Pauline. It was great to see her conversion in the gospel and she is going to be an awesome member of the Church!

Another highlight of the week was yesterday at Church! The whole Diwa Family went to Church with us! Tatay was able to come home from his busy work and he attended all 3 hours! Julie's Dad has been a great fellowshipper too! He works with Julies Husband. We went over to teach them last night and they made the decision that Julie and the kids are going to get baptized first. Tatay is just really concerned with his work that he may not be able to get home every week. So theres that! On the 16th of June. They are going to have their interview this week! So it should be good stuff! This is them!

This week we were able to teach our other investigators.. Not really seeing much progression because they didn't go to church.. But it should be promising for this next week! We will continue to work hard with them. We were blessed to find new investigators too this week! So lots to work with! ðŸ˜€

The Church is true! I'm really loving the stories about Joseph Smith in the Liahona's right now. Have you guys seen that? Its normally near the middle. They are strengthening my testimony even more in Joseph Smith. I know he is the Prophet of the Restoration. Go check out those stories if you havent seen that. Well have an awesome week Family and Friends! Love you guys
